BRITNEY BROWN | ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH
Britney Brown is in her second season as the Associate Head Coach of the UNT women’s basketball program. With 13 seasons of experience coaching in Division I women’s basketball, also serving as an assistant coach at TCU, Nebraska and Tulsa, Brown is a proven leader, developer and recruiter.
In her first season at North Texas, the Mean Green went 23-9 breaking the school’s single-season wins record, claimed a share of the AAC regular season title and earned a postseason berth to the WBIT. Primarily working with UNT’s guards, the team posted its highest scoring average per game (74.3) and the second-most assists (456) in program history. She was also instrumental on the defensive end as North Texas held opponents to a .270 mark 3-point attempts, which ranked No. 17 in the nation.
Brown also helped point guard Dyani Robinson earn the conference’s Sixth Player of the Year award during the 2023-24 campaign.
She came to UNT after seven seasons with the TCU women’s basketball program, helping lead the Horned Frogs to three 20+ win seasons and a pair of appearances in the WNIT Semifinal. The former Oklahoma Sooners product was named associate coach prior to the 2019-20 campaign while also holding the role of Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator during her time in Fort Worth.
In seven seasons at TCU, Brown helped the Horned Frogs win a total of 105 games, including a three-season stretch from 2017-18 to 2019-20 where they won 22+ games in three straight seasons for the first time in program history. That stretch also included notching a 24-11 mark in 2018-19 - just one win shy of the school’s record 25 victories (2000-01, 2003-04).
In addition, TCU also set program records with 17 home victories in 2018-19 and 13 Big 12 Conference wins in 2019-20. The Horned Frogs also managed to register its most road wins since 2003-04, notching nine victories on the road in 2019-20.
TCU collected its first national ranking in 10 years during the 2017-18 campaign, as well, coming in as high as No. 22. The Frogs then made its way back into the WBCA Top-25 rankings during the 2019-20 season, coming in at No. 25, the week of Feb. 25.
During her time in Fort Worth, Brown was instrumental in the growth in a number of All-Big 12 caliber guards. Most recently, Brown helped Lauren Heard become a two-time First Team All-Big 12 selection in 2019-20 and 2020-21. Heard was the first TCU player to accomplish the feat since 2015-16.
Brown was also key in the growth of Kianna Ray who was named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention as a sophomore in 2017-18 after leading the Frogs in assists and steals, while ranking second in blocks. Following the 2018-19 season, both Ray and Heard finished among the top-15 of all Big 12 players in assists, assist/turnover ratio and steals. Heard (first team) and Ray (second team), would go onto earn All-Big 12 honors following the 2019-20 season while Ray also landed on the All-Defensive team.
Brown’s influence was also seen in veteran guards such as Jada Butts and Toree Thompson. In her lone season under Brown, Butts averaged 12.2 points and 2.6 assists per game after averaging 6.5 points and 1.2 assists in her first three seasons. Thompson, who played two of her three seasons at TCU under Brown, shot 36.7 percent from deep in her TCU career to rank eighth in program history.
In total, nine players earned All-conference honors in Brown’s time at TCU. The Frogs were also very successful in the classroom with Brown on staff, producing a total of 28 Academic All-Big 12 selections across the first six seasons of her tenure.
Brown arrived at TCU after serving one season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Nebraska, helping lead the Cornhuskers to the WNIT.
Prior to arriving at Nebraska, Brown spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Tulsa. In her first season at Tulsa in 2011-12, Brown helped the Hurricane to an eight-game improvement in the win column and their best Conference USA finish since 2005-06. A year later, Brown played a key role in helping the Hurricane capture the 2013 Conference USA Tournament title and advance to the NCAA Tournament. Tulsa finished with 17 wins, a four-game improvement over the previous year. The Hurricane returned to the postseason in 2013-14 with an 18-14 record.
Brown went to Tulsa after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Putnam City West High School.
Brown’s high school coaching experience came after spending two seasons as the video coordinator at Oklahoma, while working to complete her master’s degree. In her second season on the Oklahoma staff, the Sooners advanced to the 2009 NCAA Women’s Final Four and finished with a 32-5 overall record. OU went 22-9 and advanced to the second round of the 2008 NCAA Tournament in Brown’s first season on staff.
Brown’s coaching career began after a successful playing career in which she played in 129 games and totaled 59 starts over a four-year span for Oklahoma from 2003-07. Brown was a player on OU teams that won a total of 100 games and captured five Big 12 Conference regular season or tournament championships. Eight of her Oklahoma teammates were either drafted or signed WNBA contracts.
As a starter her junior season, Brown earned All-Big 12 honorable mention accolades as the Sooners went 31-5 and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16. She averaged 7.0 points and 4.3 assists while starting 33 games to help the Sooners to a 16-0 Big 12 mark and three more wins in the Big 12 Tournament.
As a senior in 2006-07, Brown helped the Sooners return to the NCAA Sweet 16. Oklahoma finished with a 28-5 overall record that included a 13-3 Big 12 mark. The Sooners finished 17-13 in Brown’s sophomore season (2004-05), after going 24-9 during her freshman campaign (2003-04), when she appeared in 32 games with one start.
A native of Okmulgee, Okla., Brown starred at Norman North High School, where she finished her career as the school’s all-time scoring and assists leader.

DURMON JENNINGS | ASSOCIATE COACH
Jennings is in his fifth season with the Mean Green, after being retained on staff by head coach Jason Burton when he took over before the 2023-24 season.
Jennings works with posts and scout team on a regular basis. Since arriving at North Texas in 2020, the Mean Green have won 10+ conference games in three of his four seasons on staff, including a program record 13 during the 2023-24 campaign that saw UNT earn a share of the AAC regular season title.
The 2023-24 Mean Green led the conference in scoring and team field goal percentage in large part due to the play of the front court. North Texas had two of the top three field goal percentage leaders in the AAC in Tommisha Lampkin, who ranked No. 7 nationally, and DesiRay Kernal.
Jennings has been a key figure in Lampkin’s growth into a first team all-conference performer. He’s helped the senior center improve her numbers each season to put together one of the best careers in UNT women’s basketball history. In total, Jennings has guided three post players to all-conference honors while at North Texas, including Lampkin and Kernal who were First Team All-AAC selections in 2024, and Madison Townley in 2022.
Jennings came to Denton following two seasons as the women’s basketball associate head coach at Eastern New Mexico. Spearheaded by his player development and recruiting, Jennings helped guide the Greyhounds to the second most wins in program history with an overall record of 22-9. ENMU advanced to the NCAA Division II South Central Region Championship Tournament for the third time ever and also posted a victory over No. 1 ranked and defending national champions Lubbock Christian during the regular season.
The Hounds compiled a 19-11 record during the 2018-19 season to secure a spot in the South Central Regional. ENMU went 14-6 in Lone Star Conference play to finish tied for third in the league while also setting the best home record in program history with a 12-1 mark inside Greyhound Arena.
Jennings joined ENMU’s women’s basketball program prior to the start of the 2017-18 campaign as the team compiled a record of 16-12 and a 12-8 mark in the LSC to finish in a tie for fourth in conference play.
Jennings previously served as the graduate assistant coach of the ENMU men’s basketball program during the 2015-16 season and the fall semester of the 2016-17 season before becoming the volunteer assistant coach in January 2017.
Before coming to Eastern, Jennings served as a boys varsity and junior varsity coach at Durango High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, for two seasons. Jennings also served as a 17U coach for the Elite Youth Basketball League in the summer of 2015 and as a 15U coach for the Under Armour Association during the summer of 2014.
In 2013, Jennings served as an intern for the NBA Summer League as well as served as an intern for the Athletic Administration at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV) for one year. Before moving to Las Vegas, the Indianapolis native coached back home as a high school girls basketball and track and field coach at Warren Central High School from 2011 to 2013. Jennings got his start in coaching at Manual High School in Indianapolis where he coached the varsity girls’ basketball team during the 2010-11 season.
Jennings earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management at the University of Indianapolis in 2013 after he transferred from Geneva College where he played on the men’s basketball team during the 2007-08 season. Jennings earned his master’s degree in Sports Administration from Eastern New Mexico University in 2016.

PRICESS DAVIS | ASSISTANT COACH
Princess Davis, a former Texas A&M-Commerce standout player and coach under Jason Burton, is in her second season as an Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for UNT.
Davis came to UNT after spending the 2022-23 season as an assistant coach on Burton’s staff at Commerce. She helped lead the Lions in their transition to Division I and was crucial piece in helping them advance to the semifinal of the Southland Conference Tournament.
In her first season in Denton, the program soared to new heights by setting a new single season wins record and winning a share of its first conference title since 1986.
Working primarily with the guards, Davis was instrumental in helping Dyani Robinson earn the AAC Sixth Player of the Year award in 2024.
In her role for the Lions, she was responsible for coordinating junior college recruiting, working with guards, assisting in scouting opponents, serving as an academic mentor, and had a role in the social media outreach efforts.
Prior to her one season at TAMUC, Davis served as an assistant coach at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas for two seasons.
In her time with the Lady Cardinals, Davis was on the staff for a pair of NJCAA Tournament runs, including 2020-21 when TVCC finished as the national runner up in the NJCAA Women’s Basketball Championship.
In just two seasons, Davis mentored five NJCAA all-region academic players, seven all-conference honorees, eight all-region players, a NJCAA Region XIV Freshman of the Year, and a pair NJCAA All-Americans
Davis was also a standout on the court TAMUC, playing with the Lions from 2014-19.
No A&M-Commerce women’s basketball player has played, started, or won more games than Davis, who was one of Burton’s first recruits in Commerce
The Shreveport, Louisiana, native ended her Lion career second in assists, third in points, and first in minutes played. She averaged 11.3 points and 3.6 assists per game and was named an all-conference player three times as well as the Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year in 2014-15. She was also honored as an All-American in 2017-18.
Additionally, Davis was part of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s “So You Want to Be a Coach” training program in 2019, before playing professionally in Europe for ZKK Plamen Pozega in Pozega, Croatia.
After graduating with a degree in Kinesiology & Sport Studies from A&M-Commerce in 2018, Davis also received her master’s degree in counseling at A&M-Commerce in 2020.

Dr. Leah Foster | DIRECTOR OF PLAYER ENGAGEMENT
Dr. Leah Foster is in her second season as the Director of Player Engagement and Assistant to the Head Coach at UNT. She joined the Mean Green after spending five seasons as the Player Development Coordinator at TCU (2018-23).
Her first season in Denton saw the Mean Green clinch a share of the program’s first conference title since 1986 and make the program’s sixth postseason appearance ever. North Texas went 23-9 in the 2023-24 campaign while breaking 11 school records, including single-season wins, conference wins (13), all-conference honors (6), scoring average (74.3) and field goal percentage (.463).
In her five years with the Horned Frogs, Foster helped the Horned Frogs post a pair of 20+ win seasons as well as an appearance in the WNIT Semifinal in 2018-19.
Before working at TCU, Foster spent three years as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Tulsa. The Hurricane advanced to the Quarterfinal of the American Athletic Conference Tournament in all three years with Foster on staff.
Prior to her stint with the Hurricane, Foster served in the same role at Loyola during the 2014-15 campaign and was an assistant coach at Houston for three seasons (2011-14), where she recruited the 22nd-best class in 2012 according to Dan Olson’s Collegiate Girls Basketball Report and the 39th-best class by ESPN Hoop Gurlz.
Foster also spent three seasons (2008-11) as an assistant coach at Dartmouth College where she helped the Big Green capture the 2009 Ivy League Championship, while posting an 18-11 record and earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
She began her coaching career as a graduate assistant with the Texas State women’s basketball program for two years (2006-08).
A four-year letter winner at St. Edward’s University (Austin, Texas), an NCAA Division II program, Foster led the Hilltoppers to the 2006 Heartland Conference Championship and was tabbed to the all-conference second team in 2005.
Foster earned her bachelor’s degree in English literature from St. Edward’s University in 2006 and her master’s degree in physical education-sports management from Texas State in 2008. She also earned her Doctorate (Eh. D.) in higher educational leadership from TCU in 2023.

Olivia Hunt | DIRECTOR OF RECRUITING AND PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
Olivia Hunt is in her second season as the Director of Recruiting and Player Development for UNT women’s basketball. She comes to UNT after spending one season as an assistant coach at Austin College.
While working with UNT’s post players alongside Durmon Jennings, Hunt assists with analytical evaluations for the team and recruiting.
The Mean Green went 23-9 with Hunt on staff in the 2023-24 season. They recorded the most conference wins and overall wins in program history to clinch a share of the AAC regular season championship and earn a birth to the WBIT.
Prior to her time with the Roos, Hunt served as the assistant coach for the University of Texas-Dallas from 2018-22. While at UTD, Hunt was named the TABC Small College Assistant Coach of the Year following the 2019-20 campaign.
In four seasons with the Comets, Hunt helped UTD post an impressive 51-17 record while producing a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances and the 2018-19 American Southwest Conference Regular Season title. In 2018-19, Hunt worked as an assistant coach for the Texas A&M-Commerce women’s basketball team for head coach Jason Burton. During her one season with the Lions she helped lead that program to its first NCAA Division II Tournament appearance in more than 10 years. Hunt was also a player Austin College and was a two-time winner of the Brittany Simpson Award, given annually to the women’s basketball player who exhibits attributes which support and encourage her teammates, is energetic, a competitor, and selfless in her role as a member of the team. In addition, Hunt earned the Brittany Simpson Scholarship upon graduation, enabling her to earn her master’s degree from AC. Hunt served as a graduate assistant under head coach Michelle Filander while earning her master’s. As a player and graduate assistant at Austin College, Hunt helped guide the ‘Roos to a record of 82-48. Along with her duties as the women’s assistant basketball coach, Hunt also served as an assistant for athletics communications. As a student at Austin College, she was a four-time Tim Calvert Sports Information Intern, and during the spring of 2018 worked as an Academic Persistence Monitor for the ‘Roo athletics department. Hunt earned her undergraduate degree in 2017 and her master’s degree in 2018, both from Austin College.

LaDerica Paul | DIRECTOR OF BASKETBALL OPERATIONS
LaDerica Paul is in her second season with UNT women’s basketball as the Director of Basketball Operations. Prior to arriving at UNT, Paul held the same title at the University of Incarnate Word.
Her first season at North Texas saw the team win a program record 23 games, including 13 in conference play that clinched a share of UNT’s first conference title since 1986. The Mean Green also earned a berth to the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament, marking the sixth postseason appearance in program history.
In her one season at UIW, Paul helped the Cardinals win 15 games and earn the #4 seed in the Southland Conference Tournament. No stranger to Denton, Paul spent the 2021-22 season at Texas Woman’s University as an assistant coach.
Prior to her stint at TWU, she was also an Assistant Coach at North Central University in 2021. While at North Central, a NCAA Division III program, Paul assisted in leading the women’s basketball program to its first regular season championship and first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Championship.
A graduate and former player at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Paul excelled in academics and leadership, while balancing being an athlete. She was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll from 2017 to 2019. In 2019, she received the Lee Denmon III “Islander Way” Award, an award which recognizes a student for their excellence in leadership. Paul was also an avid leader in Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s Student Athletic Advisory Committee. She served as Executive Board Member for three years—Treasurer (2017), Secretary (2018) and President (2019).
After finishing her playing career, Paul remained at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi as a graduate assistant for the Islanders. During the 2019-20 season, Paul assisted in coaching the program to its first Southland Conference Regular Season Championship.
Paul grew up in the surrounding area in Dallas, Texas, where she played high school basketball at Dallas Skyline High School. During her four years at Skyline, Paul’s most notable season was her senior year, when she helped lead Skyline to the 6A State Championship Game.
Paul earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2019 and a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Public Management in 2020, both from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
